Civil Engineering
Project Experiences

During my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in Civil Engineering, I actively participated in various hands-on projects that enhanced my technical expertise and deepened my understanding of engineering principles. Collaborating with peers, I contributed to designing sustainable structures, conducting site assessments, and implementing innovative solutions using BIM to address challenges posed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the AEC industry.

Master's Degree Program: Highlights of Projects Undertaken

During my Master's in Civil Engineering, I specialized in courses such as AI in Construction, Integrated Water Resources Management, and Construction Project Management. My research focused on developing automated BIM modules for exterior architectural elements. These experiences strengthened my expertise in applying advanced technologies to solve complex challenges in the construction industry.

AI-Based Architectural Design Automation (Year 4)

In the fourth year of the "Development of AI-Based Architectural Design Automation Technology" project,  I participated in developing automated detailing modules for various architectural elements, including trenches, canopies, drains, waterproofing, and window sills and joints. These modules were created using logistic design considerations and parametric modeling, integrated as add-ins within the Revit API, to streamline and enhance the design process.

AI-Based Architectural Design Automation (Year 3)

In the third year of the "Development of AI-Based Architectural Design Automation Technology" project, I participated in developing automated detailing modules for various architectural elements, including insulation, inspection ladder, downspouts, parapets, and exterior wall finishes. These modules were created using logistic design considerations and parametric modeling, integrated as add-ins within the Revit API, to streamline and enhance the design process.

AI-Based Architectural Design Automation (Year 2)

In the second year of the "Development of AI-Based Architectural Design Automation Technology" project, I participated in developing an automated classification model to assess the severity of clashes in integrated BIM projects. This involved establishing severity criteria, constructing a clash ontology, and utilizing AI along with query-based classification methods to efficiently identify and categorize clashes, improving the overall design process and minimizing conflicts during construction.

AI-Based BIM Consistency and Component Recommend-ation System (Year 3)

In the third year of the "Development of a System for Checking Consistency of Components and Spaces in Architectural BIM Models," I participated in developing a classification system that utilizes geometric features with a Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) and integrates a Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) for semantic relational graph-based classification. This system automates the classification of room types and generates multiple design outputs for buildings, ensuring consistency and efficiency in architectural BIM models. By combining deep learning and graphical neural networks, the system enhances the design process and streamlines architectural workflows.

Bachelor's Degree Program: Highlights of Projects Undertaken

During my Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, I gained comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience across a wide range of engineering disciplines. My studies covered foundational subjects such as engineering fundamentals, surveying, and materials science, as well as specialized areas including structural design, transportation engineering, hydraulics, geotechnical engineering, and construction management. Through integrated projects and a graduation thesis, I honed my technical skills and problem-solving abilities, preparing me for diverse challenges in the civil

Wastewater Management Project

Jul-Sep 2018

As the Co-Leader of the project “Plan and Design for Stormwater Drainage System for a New Campus Building at WYTU,” I gained hands-on experience in the environmental engineering field. My responsibilities included conducting surveys and producing contour maps to guide the planning of the drainage system. I also designed both open and closed channel systems to effectively manage surface water drainage, ensuring the system's efficiency and sustainability.

Intern as Site Engr

Mar-Jun 2018

As an Intern Junior Site Engineer at MKT Construction Company Limited, I gained practical experience in key aspects of construction management. My responsibilities included installing green formwork and ensuring its stability, calculating concrete volumes for A.G Plant Capacity while managing scheduling tasks, and verifying reinforcements according to drawings in post-tensioning construction techniques. These experiences enhanced my technical skills and understanding of on-site operations.

Structure Project

Jul-Sep 2017

As the Leader of the “Study on Structural Analysis and Design of a Two-Storeyed RC Building” project at WYTU, I oversaw the analysis and design of key structural elements, including slabs, beams, columns, and footings, for a two-story dwelling. Collaborating with a team of 10 peers, we successfully completed the project through effective teamwork and technical integration. Our efforts were recognized with the First Prize at the 2017 Project Show and Competition for 4th-year civil engineering projects.

Laboratory
Fieldtrip

Nov-Dec 2016

As the Co-Leader of the “Material Laboratory Field Trip to Irrigation Technology Centre (ITC) in Bago, Myanmar,” I gained hands-on experience with construction material testing machines and quality control processes. The trip involved investigating the physical and chemical properties of soil, concrete, and water quality. This experience enhanced my understanding of material testing and quality assurance in construction projects.

Airport Fieldtrip

Jan-Mar 2016

As the Leader of the “Airport Planning and Design” field trip, I explored the planning and design considerations at Yangon Airport. I facilitated brainstorming sessions to develop a creative and collaborative approach for a new airport model design. Additionally, I defined roles and responsibilities for team members, ensuring efficient task management and fostering effective teamwork throughout the project.

Concrete Mix Design Project

Jul-Aug 2015

As the Co-Leader of the “Concrete Paving” project, I gained practical experience in the construction industry by learning rigid pavement construction techniques. My responsibilities included mixing concrete in designed proportions for pavement installation. This project provided my first hands-on exposure to real-world construction practices, enhancing my technical and practical skills.

Plumbing Project

Jun-Jul 2014

As the Leader of the “Installing the Pipe Work for a Three-Storeyed RC Building” project, I gained valuable knowledge about the features and functions of plumbing systems and their accessories. My role involved overseeing the installation of plumbing accessories, connecting the main water supply to wash basins. This project also marked my first experience as a team leader, where I successfully managed tasks and guided the team to completion.
