The Society of Air-conditioning and Refrigerating Engineers of Korea (SAREK) – 2025 Winter Annual Conference (Gangnam, Seoul)

The SAREK Winter Conference 2025, held on November 28, 2025,  was a meaningful and very first milestone in my Ph.D research journey. I had the opportunity to present my research titled “Virtual Reality-based Digital Twin Framework for BIM–MEP System: Enhancing HVAC Operations through Virtual Sensors.” Standing in front of experts in HVAC and building systems, I shared how VR and BIM–MEP integration can support HVAC operation using AI-driven virtual sensors, especially in situations where physical sensors are limited.

Although presenting is always a bit nerve‑racking, the audience’s interest and feedback made it a rewarding experience and helped me see my research from new perspectives.

One of the most special moments of the conference was receiving the Outstanding Paper Presentation Award (Oral Session). This recognition was both surprising and deeply encouraging, reminding me why long hours of research and experimentation are worth it.

I am sincerely grateful to my advisor and labmates for their guidance and support throughout this work.

Conferences are also about people. Being able to attend and celebrate this moment with my BIST research group made the experience even more meaningful. Exchanging ideas, taking photos, and simply enjoying the moment together reminded me how valuable a supportive research environment is.

Grateful for the journey so far, and excited for what comes next.
